After Opening of Action K

Webpage of Action K
The website of 20 Beans was just updated before the show opened. We screamed at the dressing room (cum my office) when Saboteur, the glamorous producer, switched to see the mysterious back of Eno. He thought I had not been haunted by the show enough, thus made it the wallpaper of my PC. I asked the anonymous web designer to change to a "nicer" image taken during the dressed rehearsal for the English version, with Chai in the scene very much like The Balcony.

We had an internal discussion with theatre workers today and learnt from a different view about 20 Beans, ourselves. Much inspiring, especially for directing (in a comparatively more conventional sense), though something about 20 Beans was not touched, I thought. I am both glad and self-skeptical that the local theatre scene seems gradually accepting the works of 20 Beans (after 12 years) as something they can discuss.

Am I, Mad?

Tree of ActionsI must be. While I have yet got enough time for sleeping, hectic for the preparation and rehearsals for the performance next week, I still blog, before going on with my incomplete script.

8 days are left, I started feeling the urge only this week... You can't call that style though I relied a lot on improvisation. Perhaps Siusai's article on me, from its title: 理智與瘋狂 (Rationality and Madness) to the exhaustive review about my theatre works, touched me. I don't deserve a "study" like that, which contrasts keenly with the feeling of uncertainty and unskillfulness while working in the theatre, as an artist. This project "12 Arisings" derived from Buddhist teaching (starting from "Lightless Ring" 15 months ago) was actually initiated more like a study for myself, with artist friends interested... though Kieslowsky's "Dekalog" did come across my mind in conceiving the project...

I hope the series is not an excuse for my being mad continuously. Indeed, my practice and progress (造化) in spiritual terms cannot justify what I am attempting, yet.

Frontpage Development

The website of the School of Creativity has been launched finally. The design team has worked on it since last February, on and off, and at least 5 generations were presented. (See the tree grown beside the architecture at the cross-section on top :-) Marking not just the process of defining the image but also the positioning of the School, the various visualized stages worth a review ... despite the present version is definitely not ideal, yet.

Has there been a definite "development"? I mean, can you tell which came before the other? Which do you prefer (of course you can easily say None)? Any suggestions for next?
